Dolly-Parton

Dolly Parton, who was born in Locust Ridge Tenn. on January. 19. 1946 to a humble family of 12 children later on, realized early that she was able to escape the hardships of her life by using a imaginative mind. The songs she wrote were composed before she learned to read or write. At the age of 8, she got the first electric guitar she owned and began to sing at the Knoxville Tenn Radio Station. The following year, she made her debut album for Gold Band Records an independent small label. At the age of 16, she was able to establish herself within the community, but her dream was greater. The singer moved to Nashville the day after graduating in 1964. Dumb Blonde (both 1967) and Something Fishy were among her first Monument Records chart-topping records. Porter Wagoner's syndicated TV show needed a new singer at around this point. Parton took the job in 1966, was signed to RCA Records in 1968, and the Grand Ole Opry was founded in 1969. She left Wagoner's show, however, in 1974 due to her solo albums like Joshua Coat Of Many Colors and Jolene exceeded the sales of their joint albums. Parton's song, I Will Never Have Love for You (for Wagoner), was able to reach the No. #1 spot following their separated. The first time that a song hit the top spot.
