Anna Silk was the first child born to Peter Silk (an academic) and Ilkay Silk (a playwright, actor, director, producer and teacher of St. Thomas University). Anna Silk's dad is from Britain, and her mother is is a Turkish Cypriot English expat. She remembers watching her mother perform in play rehearsals. As a child, she played in commercials for a number of companies. In November 1999, Anna relocated to Toronto in order to further develop her acting career. She ended up moving in Los Angeles, California, in the following decade. Seth Cooperman, whom she was introduced to at an Los Angeles actors' workshop at the end of 2007, became her partner in the year 2009. Anna became a Jew at the age of 11, after having converted to Judaism. The couple was married civilly in December of this year. They then reaffirmed their vows during a Jewish ceremony in Fredericton on April 11, 2011. Bo's same-sex romance with Lauren was featured in CNN's most popular TV Couples ever, and was named the top Television Couple in 2013 by E! Entertainment Television. The success of the show resulted in Anna growing a substantial audience on social networks.
